Digital Nation

I just saw this thing on the News Hour, which got de-Lehrered with the new year, about predator drones. The button-pushers are in air force bases in the US and they watch a live feed of the drone and then hit the button on their targets. This one guy said that he'd been looking at this one guy on a bike on the feed and he went off and was playing soccer with kids and hanging out, you know, living his life. But then at the end of the day he had to kill him. How crazy is that? All while sitting in a little room and watching a screen. People sit in cubicles and kill dudes in other countries that are planning on killing people, or not. It's like in minority report, where you have the pre-cogs that send out the cops before anything has happened. Isn't that some sick shit. It's called digital nation and I think that there's going to be a full length thing on later tonight.

And just in the interest on maybe scrounging up some hits on this blog I'll post a great mashup with Santogold and U@, not really sure about the need of throwing on that PLAYED OUT KIDS SYNTH. Seems unecessary, there is definitely space on there to add a z-axis though, oh i dunno, maybe shook ones, that's getting hella love these days too. I don't get it...
